Our Climate Change Justic Campaing
The climate crisis is being turbocharged across the globe with the African people disproportionately experiencing the devastating impacts. Poverty and hunger are on the rise and millions of Africans are being forced to escape and migrate from their countries due to climate change. Midway through the implementation of sustainable development goals (SDGs) and 11 years since the launch of Africa’s development blueprint – Agenda 2063, 600 million Africans without access to energy while over 900 million Africans cannot cook without harmful fumes. Public services such as education and healthcare are chronically underfunded as unsustainable debt drives austerity.

Who we are
ActionAid Liberia (AAL) is a social justice organisation leading on women’s rights and gender equality with government and community recognition. We are known for a non-negotiable stance on women rights and the most excluded in the Liberian society. We have prioritized women’s rights for over a decade and implemented anti-SGBV and SRHR programmes targeting women, girls and other discriminated groups (i.e., LGBTI persons, sex workers, and persons living with HIV). Past projects focused on reducing SGBV in schools; strengthening referral systems in communities for reporting of SGBV cases; and alternative livelihoods for female practitioners of FGM. AAL also supported campaigns and advocacy actions for the Domestic Violence Act and FGM; pushed for violence free education and increased access to stigma-free comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services.
Overview of ICT Agriculture Hub
AAL commissioned the development of the Information Communication Technology-based agricultural hub for marketing and knowledge exchange. The establishment of the youth ICT platform is to support youth smallholder farmers to access information on climate change, weather patterns, e-extension services, and e-marketing through the use of social media platforms and other related digital platforms for smallholder farmers in Montserrado, Bong, and Gbarpolu Counties. This activity contributes toward innovation within the agriculture sector.
